Please note that this does mean what it says - the Stands will be judged taking account of the Theme :-

Military & Civilian Vessels of the Second World War.

The Best In Show Award..  The Robin Woodall Memorial Trophy (The Woodall Family)
The criteria will be that the exhibitors will vote on the “Boat they like the Most”.


All boats entered into competition at the Convention must have been constructed by the entrant. The
categories are defined as follows:-
Kit:  A boat constructed from a complete purchased kit of parts – modified or not.

Semi-Scratch:  Anything built on a commercial hull and using separately purchased parts.

Scratch:-   Category 1... Static
                   Category 2... Working (Evidence of the vessel sailing must be provided, and you may be requested to
demonstrate the vessel)

In both category's the Hull and superstructure must be built by the owner.

Diorama:  Boat Related

Best Themed Stand:
Any section of the stand devoted to the competition must be at least 50% of the stand.

Junior Boatbuilding:  A Competition for our under 16’s. Please encourage your youngsters
to build and enter.

Best Built Military & Civilian Vessel of the Second World War :

President’s Award:  President’s Choice - a boat in the room which appeals to our President.
Competition entry forms (available on our Download page) Please note that these need to be in the
Secretary’s hands by the 8th August 2019 in order that the necessary preparation of judging forms can be
done for the judges.
For Junior boat builders please note the age of the competitor on the form.

Entries will not be accepted at the event so please ensure that your members who wish
to enter boats have the necessary paperwork.
We have enclosed a sheet headed “The Judges Viewpoint” (see below) which may be of interest to
competitors as it explains the criteria used in judging model boats.
